Last month, one of our commercial Underwriters Anne Permesurdin was approached by a broker looking to insure 99 member doctors.
More specifically, the broker wanted to cover the cyber exposure of her clients, who owned an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, operated under a joint venture with shared costs.
This class of business is particularly difficult to write due to higher exposure risks relating to Privacy issues arising from personal medical records… especially when managed by 99 different doctors! But working closely with the broker, Anne was able to negotiate with our market and write this policy through APRIL’s Professional Liability contract. She also provided detailed explanations of the coverage and policy wording, to help the broker with this unusual risk.
Anne joined APRIL six years ago. With more than 20 years of experience in Commercial Insurance underwriting, Anne is a key member of our team in Toronto.
“I really enjoy working in this type of Insurance and have been fortunate to have opportunities that helped shape my career over the years as well as the help of some outstanding individuals who acted as mentors in my past. I find Commercial Lines an exciting place to be and developed a passion for this very diverse line of business. For me its almost “addictive” and I cannot get out of this Industry for sure!
In the early start of my career, I worked as a technical assistant in a Reinsurance Company and completed my CIP. I then joined the general insurance side and worked for 14 years advancing from Junior to Senior underwriters level. I earned my titles at each level responsibly not by “fast tracking” but by pure hard work which I am most proud of!
Joining April Canada granted me a great opportunity to continue my career especially with latest initiatives propelling April to reach new heights in the MGA world!”
