I am delighted to have the opportunity to introduce myself and the Apollo Syndicate in general to APRIL’s broker audience through the newsletter.
Apollo Syndicate 1969 commenced trading in January 2010 with the primary aim of building a first class privately owned underwriting platform operating at Lloyd’s. Since formation, Apollo has grown from an original team of five writing two classes to a team of over seventy covering ten classes. Our size and structure enable our underwriters to be fully empowered to make quick decisions which match the needs of our clients. Our entire business is built upon contribution, commitment and team effort and we know that APRIL share these ideals.
I started my career in 1984 and spent thirty years as a Product Recall broker in the Lloyd’s market, the last ten years at Willis where I had delegated underwriting authority. In early 2014, I decided to join Apollo and set up a Product Recall offering within the Casualty division that already existed and with whom APRIL already have a healthy longstanding relationship. In the three full years since, and with the help of our brokers and partners, we have succeeded in building a brand and are today recognised as one of the key “go to” markets for Product Recall with a particular emphasis on the component manufacturing sector.
We are constantly trying to innovate and deliver solutions and proactive ideas to our clients and brokers and are passionate about our chosen fields. We know that APRIL share this passion and we look forward to continuing our journey with APRIL and their valued network.
