I hope you are well, and are already back up to full pace for a busy 2018!
I’m writing this note on an airplane to France for a corporate meeting of the APRIL Group, as we’ve got a big year ahead of us. 2018 marks the 30th Anniversary of APRIL – which started in France in 1988 with an innovation to take the pain out of making a health insurance claim. Many years later, the group has continued to make insurance simple, and now operates in over 30 countries around the world!
We’re really proud to be celebrating this milestone, as we’ve also got some major initiatives planned for this year – for example a move to a new Canadian headquarters in February, not to mention some new niches that we will be launching this year, and more talented people that we’ve been adding to our teams in recent weeks!
After France, it’s off to London for a few days of meetings with many of our Lloyds syndicates and a weekend with my family who live in the UK.
New Years give us the opportunity to reflect on new actions, approaches or things that we will do differently – a corporate New Years resolution if you will. At APRIL, our major aim this year will be to get closer to our brokers again – employing people who will work in the field, but also positioning our underwriters as closely to our brokers as possible.
Over the last year we worked very hard internally to develop a new system, build various new products, and vastly improve our speed of service. This year we will externalize the process, and I hope you see a noticeable difference from us!
I would be really interested to hear any of your corporate New Years resolutions if you are willing to share them? Feel free to drop me a line at email@example.com.
Finally, I’ll take this opportunity to wish each of you a fantastic year!
