June has been an exceptionally busy month at APRIL – led by our daily focus on supporting you by finding solutions for your clients. Over the last few years, we have seen an exceptional increase in the number of opportunities received on a daily basis and have been very busy growing our teams and building technology to keep up with this demand. In fact, we have managed to vastly increase our speed of responding to new submissions, and see this as an ongoing mission!
APRIL Landlord Protection
Outside of this daily activity, you may have noticed a major new product launch at the very start of June: APRIL Landlord Protection.
This is not simply a case of APRIL joining the market for landlords. We have instead spend the last year researching this market in depth, meeting and interviewing landlords across Canada, meeting associated industries and partners and also drawing on the strength of other APRIL subsidiaries in Europe. Through this process of discovery, we have been truly amazed at the extent to which the standard landlord product fails the meet the basic needs and concerns of its target clients.
We’re therefore extremely proud to have developed Canada’s first insurance product that extends to protect against unpaid rents and also damage by tenants. The interest we’ve generated in the first month has been staggering, so if you haven’t yet discovered the product, please feel free to join one of our webinars and see for yourself.
We have also really stepped on the gas with our offer for contractors. Underwriters are now up-and-running across Canada to support you in this niche and we’ve been getting some amazing feedback from brokers about what we’re doing here. Our offer gives you, the broker, with the flexibility you need to package relevant coverages for your client in an affordable way. This focus on the offer is really starting to snowball inside our business and we’re grateful for the support we’ve been receiving from so many brokers as we look to re-invent this niche.
On top of this, the beautiful summer we’ve been experiencing means that everyone’s boat is back out on the water. Our APRIL Marine niches (both for boats and commercial marine) are breaking new records inside our business this year thanks to their unparalleled focus on understanding the needs of the end-customer and bringing innovative, broker focussed solutions to market.
APRIL’s 30th Anniversary
To top it all off, last week, approximately 1,800 employees from around the Group travelled to Lyon, France, to celebrate APRIL’s 30th Anniversary together. It was amazing to see the depth of talent, know-how and focus that APRIL has developed over the last 30 years in its bid to transform such a wide range of insurance niches. It was a memorable evening for all those who attended, and our focus is to continue this same focus as we push towards our 40th anniversary!
