Life sometimes has nasty surprises in store for us and no one is immune to accidents.
In Quebec, if anyone is injured, if there are damages caused by a collision or in the event of a criminal act, a police report is necessary.
If no one is injured, it is possible to fill out a joint report. In this case, the joint report must be filled out with all necessary information. Please collect all personal information from all individuals involved in the accident: names, addresses, phone numbers, driver’s license numbers and information related to insurance.
If the vehicle is not in a condition to get back on the road, have it towed to a safe location such as a repair shop or a police impound yard. Don’t forget to remove all valuable items from your vehicle.
If you are able to, take pictures of the accident. This could help your claim.
Contact your insurance broker immediately in order to report the accident and to file your claim as quickly as possible. Only the insurer will be able to determine fault in the accident.
Should you have any doubts, do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
