Write down your criteria before renting your unit
Before renting your dwelling, it is important to make sure your unit answers security criteria, as well as verifying to be ready for new tenants to move in.
- Choose a good location for your rental: if you want to invest in the housing market and you would like to rent to students, find a place near universities: it is where students will look for a residence, and you will be able to set a higher rent. Communication: the key to a successful lease
In order to rent your dwelling to students, you have to know on which platforms they are looking for a place. With a limited budget, students tend to avoid agencies not to pay fees.
- Communicate with their tools: contact universities and ask if you can display your listing. Also use social media groups to communicate directly with candidates and establish a first contact that will enable to have a first insight on whether you can trust this candidate or not. Once the lease agreement is signed, ask your tenants on how they want to communicate with you (over the phone, text messages …), as well as how they would like to pay the rent.

The rental agreement
