This month, I’m penning my introduction from France. After spending a week in the UK, it makes sense to catch-up with my colleagues in France as we look to leverage ideas from across the Globe to support the Canadian insurance market.
As many of you will be aware, we’re celebrating our 30th birthday this year as the APRIL Group, for which we are very proud. However, as I’m sure you will all agree, it’s really important to adapt and innovate within a business to ensure that it continues to serve its mission. What was done 10 years ago, 5 years ago or perhaps even last year may no longer be relevant in this marketplace that is extremely dynamic right now. Looking throughout history, we have seen so many examples of companies that have failed to reinvent themselves in their changing marketplaces – and of course, this is so difficult to do.
For our part, it’s extremely exciting to be turning 30, whilst still innovating and developing new solutions in the market. This year we have relaunched a new and stronger product offering for Professionals – bringing a highly diverse and competitive offer to brokers by blending new capacity with old. We have also launched a new niche focus on contractors and construction with innovative contractors packages and over $60M construction capacity. Finally, we’re about to launch another new product in the personal lines market which we’re extremely excited about, and expect to be launching in April.
Not to mention the move we made last month to a modern new office space, and one more regional office move to come in late summer!
It’s impossible to stand still in the market today, and we’re proud to continue innovating and adapting our business to support the market. Thank you for your amazing support, and hopefully we’ll get some time to celebrate our 30th with you somewhere in Canada throughout this year.
